Only The Positive
This is my new motto
This is my new way to look at life
This is how I need to live
All sorts of books have been inspiring me lately. The latest one is There's a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem by Wayne W. Dyer. It really pulls together so many concepts that I have already encountered in other readings and teachings. Not as much meat to it as I had hoped for. A bit more theory than practical. But an excellent reminder to myself none the less.
I started some information over on these two HubPages. So this is the start to pulling it all in together.

So my current tribes in action include
* Gaming Working doing some advertising for this online game magazine www.weredragonmag.com
* Looking into what it might take to create a Foundation to seek out funding and aid in grant making as well
* Working to start a Community to improve the overall life in a distributed fashion among people with the same hobby as me
* Considering starting up a non-profit. Not sure if it will be an incorporated one or not. Still deciding if I will or will not do so.
Those are the highlights at this time.

It begins. I broached the idea to my wife last night. The one of me starting up a non-profit. Finally she said to me, to stop talking about it. Kinda funny. So today I grabbed sample Charter and Declaration of Trust from the IRS site, So I have started editing it for me. I sent an email off to the State Department asking a few questions, calling the City Government tomorrow to find out what they say. Not sure if I file for IRS first, the State, then City or what is the correct order.
But I have begun my voyage to becoming a non-profit and helping others more than just on my own.
More as it develops.

This blog post of his states just what I was thinking watching the city Christmas Parade the other night.

This illustrates exactly what my next set of Hubs and what my next tirade and focus is going to be on.
How we as consumers, average people, common folk can do working together to negate and mitigate the issues caused today by modern sensibilities that are not very sensible.

The Collective

The Collective
A community
A structure
A support
This is inspired by 2 separate books and a chance comment made in a gaming forum
The two books are
Tribes by Seth Godin available at http://astore.amazon.com/streamsofunconsc/detail/1591842336
and
Community: The Structure of Belonging by Peter Block available at http://astore.amazon.com/streamsofunconsc/detail/1576754871
Funny as I write this I find the interface does not let me make my links, make my Italics, etc. Doing it by hand. Rather annoying. I wonder if it is due to Flock as my browser or what.
So back to my post.
The Collective is coming about from those two books and a comment made that stuck in my mind.
Why are there not more Fortune 500 people as gamers in here?
It cannot be due to a lack of intelligence. So why is there a lack of financial high power in gamers? Are we just not interested in that mundane task of making tons of money?
So this has inspired me, intrigued me, made me wonder how we as a community, gamers, as a tribe, as a body of people that are intelligent and creative, how we can help one and another to improve our status.
I know there are people who need support, personal, financial (I could use a few hundred a month more to be honest), professional, and creative.
So how can we work together to help one and another as a tribe.
I am considering starting a non-profit to have as a focal point. Not sure if that is the route to go, or go a more Cottage Industry route to work with one and another.
This is the official start to The Collective. Chime in.
Going to crosspost this at my other blog spots because, well, I can.
