Some Tips and Shortcuts I use
November 28th, 2008Link: http://hubpages.com/hub/TKIMWRSVC-Writing-Services
Here are a couple more short tips I use in making and updating a document. This is tailored to Word as that is my vehicle of work at this time. Carried over from another blog of mine to here.
Next Tip:
Illustrations and Tables
So take the idea above, expand it. Why not make your List of Illustrations and List of Tables at the same time as your Table of Contents.
That way, as you go along making your policy, document, How To Paper, etc, as you insert those illustrations to show HOW TO, or those tables illustrating your points, you can caption them immediately and when you update your three different listing structures.
Next Tip:
When I have a large document to reformat, change over to a stock look, etc. I like to start from scratch.
Do the Select All, Tools, Formats, Then clear format.
Then I can move text around easily, add or delete, etc. Then once I have the copy in place where I want it, I can whip through with a TOC and Illustrations, etc. Makes it easy and there are not the conflicts of formats to fight with.
